This N95 Respirator mask is a folding disposable personal protective face shield designed to protect you against small particles like bacteria, viruses or dusts. It offers more protection than a standard 3-ply surgical mask. It is tight-fitting and filters at least 95% of airborne particles including small and large aerosols or droplets.
Make sure you achieve an adequate seal to the face. United States regulations require that users conduct a user seal test each time the respirator is used. When properly fitted and worn, you ensure minimal leakage around the edges of the respirator when you inhale. This means that almost all the air is directed through the filter media.
This mask is not guaranteed to protect against the risk of contracting a disease or infection. However, it significantly controls exposure to airborne transmitted diseases like COVID-19 though largely dependent on proper fit and use. An optimal way to prevent transmission is to adopt a combination of interventions across the hierarchy of controls and not just PPE alone.
N95 respirator masks is reserved for health care workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by CDC guidance. Note that CDC does not recommend that the general public wear N95 mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including coronavirus (COVID-19).
If you have any chronic respiratory, cardiac or other medical conditions that make breathing difficult, please check with your healthcare provider before using an N95 Respirator because it can make breathing more difficult for you. Children or people with facial hair are not designed to wear N95 respirators because a proper fit cannot be achieved.
Do not wear N95 masks in atmospheres containing less than 19.5% oxygen.
